SuSE stores the PNG library in /usr/X11R6/lib/, which is not intuitive,
because the PNG library is not part of X11R6.

Yes, I did. But I haven't solved it, too. And SuSE was even
not friendly enough to answer my mail. What I did then?
Changed the distribuition.

Bacause the stock icons are all in the PNG format I suppose there
is a problem with their PNG library.
