How would you do a similar thing with tarballs? Currently i've changed
my CFLAGS environment variable to '-m486 -malign-loops=2
-malign-jumps=2 -malign-functions=2 -O2' because the GCC-HOWTO said that
gives good results on pentium based machines. However, if i'm not
mistaken, doesn't egcs (which comes with redhat 6.1?) have compiler
flags that would optimize for different architectures? Just in case
anyone has already done the reasearch for me, i have two computers, a
ppro and a k7Athlon. If anyone can suggest something that would give me
optimum performance when compiling tarballs, that would be appreciated.
Thx.
