No offense taken. And yes, I am a bit paranoid. As an end-user who's gone
through so many problems first trying to configure RH 5.2, then trying to
install and compile the original 1.0 release of Gnome (which was a terrible
release for RH 5.2 end-users, maybe good for programmers...), and then
finding that KDE 1.1 installed withoug a single hitch and worked perfectly
well from day one. Don't I have good reasons to be paranoid as an
end-user????
As for the RPM package tool... that's a good point. I should look more into
the problems with this tool, but I still think there is questions of
compatibility between Gnome and KDE that programmers might need to look
into. The quick and aprioristic rejections that these kinds of problems
might exist is very suspicious in and of itself. No offense.
Marco
