gnome-core broken?

I had to do this to get gnome-core to start building on Solaris 2.6,
but I'm not sure it's strictly a Solaris problem:

./autogen.sh
cp intl-* intl
cd intl
for i in intl-*
do
mv $i `sed -e 's/intl-//'`
done
cd ..
./configure
make

For some reason all the files that should've been in intl/* were instead
named intl-*.
