We have chosen to use Enlightenment as our default window manager because
in our experience it is the most GNOME compliant wm, and it has a very
nice GUI tool to configure its behavior. It is installed by default in
the Starbuck release.

But we are not wm bigots, and Owen Taylor has written a wm capplet for
the control center that will make it very easy for anyone to switch to
another WM. We have WindowMaker in the Starbuck release as well, and the
capplet also tests for the prescence of icewm if the user has installed it.

The requirement for enlightenment is therefore not a bug - the default
environment in Starbuck will not come up nicely if you do not have enlightenment
installed. Once you bring up GNOME you can use the wm capplet to change
to whatever window manager you choose.

By selecting Enlightenment as our default we are in no way suggesting it is
the only window manager that works with GNOME: quite the opposite.Rasterman has been
active by writing the GNOME wm compliance documentation, as well as answering
questions, to guarantee that there will be many many wm's to choose from.
