gnome compliant window managers

GNOME, as distributed by RedHat Raw Hide, requires the Enlightenment
window manager. This is strange, as there are other Gnome-compliant
window managers, such as SCWM (http://huis-clos.mit.edu/scwm/).

RH people do not consider this to be a bug (see
http://developer.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1503):

 >> We require enlightenment because gnome-session tries to run it
 >> as configured by the spec file.

There should be a way to avoid this.

I am sending this message to both scwm-discuss list (to which I am
subscribed) and to gnome-list (to which I am not subscribed). I would
appreciate if replies were directed to both mailing lists as I believe
that the issue is relevant to both of them.

Micros**t is not the answer. Micros**t is a question, and the answer is Linux,
(http://www.linux.org) the choice of the GNU (http://www.gnu.org) generation.
Those who can laugh at themselves will never cease to be amused.
