Has anyone sucessfully set up GNOME to work with WindowMaker?? I have
GNOME 1.0.1 and WindowMaker 0.51.2 and when I configured WM, i did a
"./configure --enable-gnome --enable-sound --enable-lite". I then built WM
and did a wmaker.inst and put the following lines in .Xclients:
#!/bin/bash
panel &
/usr/local/bin/wmaker
Here is the thing, X starts up fine and WM starts up fine and the panel is
there but the screensaver, backgrounds and some other functions in gnome
don't affect the Window Manager. I mean that if I set up a background in
gnome control-center, it sets the background in WM but if I quit X and come
back in, there is no background even though control-center is still set up
with the background I chose in the previous section. Also, Screensavers
don't work at all. AND, AND, when I use panel's logout, it just quits
panel, not the window manager. Basic ickiness..... nothing that really
hurts but kind of a pain in the ass.
Thanks,
Neb
