Install annoyance

Building Gnome 1.0 from source w/ updataed gnome-core.

On my home system RH5.1 client /usr/local mounted from RH5.1 server
Install from the client works fine

At work RH5.2 client /usr/local mounted from RH5.1 server Installing from
the clients works except that include and lib files are not being set
o+rx.  This is causing all kinds of problems as each package bombs during
config or make if I forget to change permissions after install.
