Help gnumeric needs guile

I have RH5.2 and have installed gnome-1.0 now when I run
gnumeric as for guile this is the error message that I get

[kevin@somehost kevin]$ gnumeric
gnumeric: error in loading shared libraries
libguile.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

now I have tried to look for the library that is missing
but I have libgnome.so.4 what can I do?

I have tried compiling the CVS version and I get a message can't
find guile-config
what do I need to install
