Errors building 5.2 rpms - help!

I've been trying to rebuild the src rpms for RH 5.2. The build seems to go
fine then when I try to rpm -Uvh the resulting i386 rpm i get,
free list corrupt (5380872)
this happend on gnome-core-1.0.7.i386.rpm. Can anyone tell me what's going
wrong ?
