The more fit you are, the later into the night you can work.  Exercise
gets the metabolism working so that your body/brain does not enter
shutdown mode at night.

I have 2 kids, one 3yrs, the other 4.5yrs.  I have found that the
exercise thing is the best for being able to put some time in after
they go to sleep.  Not watching TV is also a good one.
