you should also change "modem lock file" in the advanced tab. if ppp0
uses /dev/modem, it will be "/var/lock/LCK..modem", if it uses
/dev/ttyS1 it will be "/var/lock/LCK..ttyS1", etc. you may also need to
uncheck "verify owner of lock file".
