I get these same errors and results.

His xxxx-100 version did not work with mine... The latest base RPM's
work fine.

I've used it for installs in root. (bzip and xpdf and it is working
for me - I even set up mime) I have some questions but I'm not sure if
it is because of my lack of knowledge or the program.

I just edited /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients with:

#!/bin/bash
	exec gnome-session
##

then startx or init 5 on a command line.

There is a newer version of xscreensaver (3.08) that removed a minor
bug for me.

I'll email a note for using linuxconf for setting up PPP. It's very
easy once you get to know linuxconf.

I think it would be good to start a gnome.users group. Many of our
questions can be answered amongst users and the developers would be
able to see the strengths and weaknesses of the software.

I'm very pleased with gnome and have had it running for several weeks
now and am discovering new things all the time. I've also watched as
several bugs were cleaned up. I think the developers are doing a great
job.
