Re: GNOME libs 1.0.7 has been released

You can tell make where to install files when you run ./configure. If you
are using Red Hat, RPM will install stuff into /usr, and Gnome's default is
to go into /usr/local. You can tell make to put things into /usr by:

$./configure --prefix=/usr

Again, I am not trying to put you down for not compiling everything
yourself, I am just trying to be helpful. Good luck.

Sincerely,

Ryan D. Lewis

P.S. If you do use make and make install, make sure to remove the RPM you
are updating. rpm -e package.name. You might have to use --nodeps.
