I'm trying to install gnome to compare it to KDE. It seems to be
very cool, and I'd like to start to contribute in some ways to the
project.
I installed all needed packages before trying to compile gnome-libs-
0.30.1
When I try to configure it, it seems to be unable to find GTK-1.1.1,
wich is effectively installed. All the others configure scripts find the
right version of GTK, but gnome-libs gives that:
checking for GTK - version >= 1.1.1... no
*** Could not run GTK test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log
for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK was
incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved GTK since it was installed. In the latter
case, you
*** may want to edit the gtk-config script: /usr/local/bin/gtk-config
configure: error: GTK not installed
What am I doing wrong???
