Presumably one could use the data from the XInput keyboard stuff which if
I recall correctly has a keyboard layout map; however we have to be
careful about the little subtelties like keyboards which have a few keys
in strange places (like this one which has the ~ to the right of the right
shift...Odd I know but the keyboard is otherwise so nice I can forgive the
occasional odd feature).
