gnome-libs CVS problem

when i attempt to checkout gnome-libs from CVS, i get the following
error:
cvs server: cannot find module `libart_lgpl' - ignored
cvs [checkout aborted]: cannot expand modules
what is wrong? is it something i'm doing?
