Ouch!!  Sorry.  I had no idea that updating in parallel was such a
horrendous, evil thing to do (that's why I asked).  I only have a single
phone line, and was trying to speed things up to minimize my time
online.  Sounds like a very bad idea, though.  I won't do it again.
