most likely this is because of mico ... should be better when we use ...
I've also been toying with the idea of gtkless applets, have some kind
of protocol for simple display of things on the panel and the applet
would just tell the panel what to draw ... but it seems too much trouble
with little gain ...
another solution would be this, make support for dl loaded applets again
... I inherently don't like that idea ... i like that the applet code
is separate and doesn't affect the panel (a crashed applet shouldn't
crash the panel)
we should make orbit be smaller and that should solve the problem of
huge applets
