That didn't work. So I just used --disable-nls  

Then I got a few more errors I could solve, but I can't get over 
loads of 

gdk_imlib_xxxx 

and 

gtk_widget_deref

errors in the libgnomeui directory. I have compiled Imlib, and I moved 
the libs and headers to the usual dirs from /usr/local, but it still 
doesn't work. Is there supposed to be  -lgdk_imlib somewhere?
