Gnome snapshot 980624 works only on local display!

Hello,

when i use e.g. gedit with the current snapshot at the local display it
comes up
in the end after a lot of warnings. But when i use the same machine over
the network,
i get

** ERROR **: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)
  serial 218 error_code 10 request_code 129 minor_code 1

Aborted    

Btw:

a good way to test all the redraw effects for gtk is to use it under
windows 
with a X-Server. There are funny flicker effects with the panel (but the
panel of this snapshot only locally comes up here, remote the error
above occurs).
