RPM and Corba/GNOME

Alright. I'll preface this by saying I probably don't know what I'm
talking about.

I read a fair amount through the GNOME archives, and didn't see anything
pertaining to a GNOME RPM interface. I'm surprised, and I'd like to take
that task on. Certainly just writing a utility that uses GTK should be
easy enough.

But, the real magic is in writing a CORBA interface for it, so that you
could get any machine to edit another's packages.

Now, others have brought up gnome-linuxconf. That's cool. The idea of RPM
in Linuxconf isn't so far out either. But, will Linuxconf be CORBA'd?
Should it be?

Also, should this perhaps be abstracted so that the interface for RPM
could look similiar to that of a GTK'd Debian package manager?
