Panel & Xlockmore

The panel and xlockmore just don't seem to mix (have to switch out to a VT
and kill panel.)  Any ideas?  The panel just keeps interrupting xlockmore
as if a key had been pressed, so it just keeps flashing and you can't type
in a password...a shame, because I really want to use both.
