gnome_init hanging

Hi!

since yesterday I´m having a strange problem: I can´t run ANY GNOME
application. I had a quick look and the problem is gnome_init, gnome_init
does not return and is hanging. No errormessages, simply nothing.

I´m running a current DEBIAN Slink and got all (glib, gtk+, imlib, ...)
from CVS. I tried checkout and update multiple times but no change.
All the stuff compiles without errors.

Sorry, I´ve never used gdb and don´t know how to use it, maybe someone can
tell me what to try next.
