Someone ought to take a look at ftp.x.org:/contrib/widgets/motif/joystick.tar.Z
It's a 2-d scrollbar replacement designed to look like a joystick. The code
looks very simple inside, and porting it to gtk shouldnt take more than an
afternoon (IMHO :-) ).
