Perhaps you've discussed this on IRC; but I didn't see it mentioned.

I am assuming that you are also using these XML files unchanged from how
Mozilla make them available.

What was the results of bringing up the length of time to download them
with Mozilla messaging? Did they say they would look into it, or that
they had no resources to deal with it, or did they suggest hosting it
separately.
