Okay; I didn't reply to the *original* receipt message; I replied to a
subsequent reply to that message.  Would this have made a difference?
The message still included "[gnome.org #5966]" in the subject and went
to <svnmaster gnome org>.

Regardless, I've now replied to the original message.  And I've gotten a
copy of that message back from <svnmaster gnome org>.  And I still don't
see 5966 listed at <http://www.gnome.org/rt3-stats/accounts.html>.
