Hi Translation Teams,

Hi,

Gnome Commander 1.6.0 is planned to be released on September 26th. For
your convenience, no strings will be changed up to this date. (*)

I understand that it's not easy to move release dates around, but I
have to say it is unfortunate that your string freezes overlaps with
the GNOME one like that. GNOME will have higher priority and if you
had done your release at another time, you'd have had translators with
much more free time to dedicate to your software.

See https://wiki.gnome.org/ThreePointTwentyone

To be honest, I didn't check the official GNOME timeframe in the past,
as it never collide with the release of Gcmd (accidentally!). Thank you
for the hint. I'll keep an eye on the official GNOME timeframe in the
future.

Nevertheless, there is no reason why we should stick to September, 26th.
My idea was just to give the translation teams enough time.

As Gcmd is not a part of the GNOME core modules, it is no problem to
postpone the release. Let me fix the suspicious strings which you
mention below and I will again drop a message to this list.

Some changes and updates were made in the documentation. The Gnome
Commander application itself contains lot of new translatable strings.

I just had a quick look and some strings look suspicious, e.g. :
"filemanager"
"copy"
"'text'" (yes, with single quotes inside of the string)
"16"

Shame on my, I'll again go through the gschema file and fix that.

Do these really have to be translated? If so, do you have expectations
about their format? In any case a translator comment would be
appreciated.

See https://wiki.gnome.org/TranslationProject/DevGuidelines/Use%20comments

Thank you for this link! Really a great hint. I'll again work through
the original strings and make required changes / add comments.

Best wishes
Uwe
