I stumbled upon this yesterday while registering and it is indeed
unfortunate but we cannot do anything about it. I think somebody told me
that Google tried to at least allow the countries that don't have U.S.
embargos on them but it is too difficult to get around the *local* laws
of those countries. I am pretty sure Carol can give you details if you
are interested.
GNOME doesn't have these restrictions of course, but Google runs this
contest for free, so we cannot do anything about it.
