Mozilla does not use the gettext library, however, it is possible to
convert its .dtd and .properties files into .po files. Check out
http://l10ntools.mozdev.org/
99% of the strings of Mozilla are platform independent.
Unfortunately the original problem (untranslated dialogs coming from
Mozilla) can still remain after full localisation of Mozilla itself,
because:
1. Translations are not distributed with the program.
2. Mozilla ignores LANG environment variable.
