Hi Alberts & others,

We've been exchanging emails about how to build and run Gnome
Flashback under JHBuild. Perhaps this info should be put on the wiki?
I am thinking of using a separate page from the main page (below). I
would also link to the main JHBuild instructions as needed (below.)

Good idea! :)

I am also thinking of having separate pages for Gnome / Gnome
Flashback 3.8, 3.14, and 3.16, instead of a single page. Any
distro-specific instructions would be listed on each page.

I don't see any reason for keeping info about 3.8.

I meant Gnome Flashback 3.8.1.

Can Gnome Flashback 3.14.0 be used with Gnome 3.8.x? Keep in mind that
EL7 uses Gnome 3.8.x, so Gnome 3.8.x support is very important.

I don't know and I don't support mixing components with different versions.
There is at least two problems:
1) Both gnome-panel and gnome-flashback will install session files.
2) Older version of gdm or any other display manager will not support
XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP. For example there is no official release for lightdm
that correctly supports this new standard while support for it has been
added even in 1.10

OK. For the time being, I will create 2 pages:
3.14
3.16
