Hi,

Earlier, the size of the icons in the gnome-panel menu could be set by using a line of the form,

gtk-icon-sizes = panel-menu-bar=16,16:panel-menu=16,16:panel=16,16:gtk-large-toolbar=16,16:gtk-small-toolbar=16,16:gtk-button=16,16

in the "settings.ini" file under ~/.config/gtk-3.0/.

This does not seem to work any more for the gnome-panel in the gnome-flashback( metacity ) session in Ubuntu 14.04.

Can someone please suggest an alternate solution that will work in Ubuntu 14.04 to set the icon size and separation between menu items in the gnome-panel menu?

It happens because Gnome depreciated & removed gtk-icon-sizes settings from gtk-3.10.

Unfortunetely there is no such alternate solution unless you compiled GTK+ with the patch to get it back.

Or

you can file a bug at GTK+. (for Ubuntu there is already one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1285683)

AFAIK, Alberts restored those option as Gsettings in future branch of Gnome-panel(3.10).So we may get it back in 3.10.

Thanks.
