The documentation style guide is quite outdated, although there's still
some relevant stuff in there. It's probably best not to pay too much
attention to it though.
As far as git is concerned, all you should need to do for now is clone
the desktop-help repository, which you can do with the following
command:
git clone git://gitorious.org/desktop-help/desktop-help.git
(Assuming you've already installed the git package.)
An aside: as you've already seen with the 10-minute Mallard
introduction, we have some information for new contributors. It would be
great if you could give us some feedback on the quality of this
material, so we can improve it if it's not suitable!
Please let me know if you run into any problems. I'm afraid I don't have
a reliable internet connection at the moment so I can't chat on IRC, but
I'll hopefully be quite responsive via email.
