Actually, I just realised that what I did here wouldn't have worked. I
ran gnome-session in runlevel 3 without running startx first. As stated
in the previous email, I can't start gnome-2.4.0 in runlevel 6.
Therefore, I can't login in failsafe mode through the GUI interface. I
don't know how to do it from the command line. Is there a way of doing
that, and do you think this would be helpful? I would run the strace on
startx, but it would take a LONG time to execute. If you think that
would be best, though, I can always post the output to my website. =)
