Hi,
All those errors I mentioned in the original thread were not because of packages not meeting version requirements (as they actually were meeting them).

The actual reason was, that I used the command 'jhbuild bootstrap', which is not recommended for debian like system. As the README of jhbuild says:

  "The bootstrap should only be used if the build utilites are not provided by your distribution's package management system, for example on Mac OS."

The result of using the command was that jhbuild was unable to find the packages from their correct path.

Don't skip the modules, try to install them after again. To find
packages use ubuntu package search [1] .

This problem occurs as installed packages not meet the requirement of
package version. Try to find requested or higher  version of package.

Look into this example for managing Jhbuild issue [2].
