Re: Gnopernicus Error

Thanks, Peter.

I used the script to change the condition to 'true.' However, there's seems little else going on other than Gnopernicus. Is it possible the default Red Hat
installation, or whatever I may have mucked up since then, has some other Window manager working? I'd think that highly likely.

So, maybe a more generic question might be how to force the use of GNOME, and only GNOME.

Also, it's clear to me that I'm starting X in a most inefficient manner, first running startx from one console, then export DISPLAY=:0 followed by gnopernicus from
another console. Highly inefficient at best, I'm sure, but setting my default boot to graphical (Red Hat's runlevel 5) gave me grief when I tried to launch gnopernicus
from a console, for some reason.

So, I expect I need also to read more general GNOME docs to learn these things, now that I have gnopernicus launching reliably (with DEC Talk software speech, by the
way--very nice).
