This should be fixed in at-spi2-core head--it works now for me, anyway.
atspi_table_get_column_header was broken (and resulted in apps generating
strange warnings).

I use orca from git, at-spi2 (latest release not git version).
My gnome version is 2.32.
In gnome-volume-control the tables were not shown like in old at-spi.
In previous version orca reads the table row including the sate of the
checkboxes.
These cb's show which audio device is selected.
At-spi2 and latest orca are presenting only the string of the audio
device not the state of the cb's.
Please have a look to gnome-volume-control (input/output) tab.
