is the gimp too complex ?

does gnome needs two kinds of softwares ?
one fort the « newbies », an another one for the « nerds »

I dont agree...
I think that thinking about a two level gnome should be a better idea...
A simple-mode.. For the all gnome for the kids, or for specifics
applications for adults users.

For example, a gimp in « simple mode », with all the « hard to understand »
stuff not show (and showable easily...

And, why not, a configurable « easy mode », where the user could configured
what stuff he dont want to see in a software, like in gimp (sure, with a
well elabored default simple mode).

I thinks this should be a better idea than making two softs for everykind
of sofwares..

(by the way, this idea of « simples » softwares for everyone and a « high
levels » softwares for the eleetz, isn't it an idea who came from
MS-phylosophy ?)
