Why dont working on a - why not - simple mode for gimp ?

For the moment, gimp is simple. You talk about childs. Why not since the
start put in their hands the same tools as they'll use later.
An option « kid mode » in préférence shouldnt be a diffucult thing to
implément. 
Or better, a gnome-KID mode.. with all gnome with the « hard to understand
» things disable (and not showed) ...

I find this idea more interesting thant make differents tools, per
users-ages. The same tools why 2 differents levels of use ... So the kids
will not have to learn differents sofware when they'll grow up, they just
have to continue to use the same software.. on differents levels...
