user in Postgres before allowing the access, Glom won't like it.
How did you "allow the access" exactly? I assume that "create the user
in Postgres" means using createuser (as on the wiki) but answering no
for the "can create new databases" question.
Anyway,
I deleted this user account (dropuser) and re-created it, and it works.

However, you were right, Glom crashes a lot,
The version in debian crashes often when adding new fields. I suspect
that's fixed in cvs.
and I don't think that I
will be able to use it. I can not access the the example database (it
gets created, but is empty),
Empty of data or empty of fields and/or tables?
Please do file bugs with the information, so we can fix things.
and the application closes every time I
make a wrong move. :-(
Back to XP for me, I'm afraid.
It should be easy to make Glom run on XP too, if someone wants to try.
