Could you be more specific? Please include a full, complete, and ACTUAL URL that causes a crash.

Are you right-clicking on an image in the image results page and pasting its URL into GIMP? It's an image, 
not a Web page: what exactly do you expect to happen? Or are you saying that you can find random images on 
the Web that GIMP can't open on Windows? If you download the same image and try to open it in GIMp as an 
image, what happens?
