It should be under the "Desktop" category in start/applications screen
(stupid name, has nothing to do with the actual desktop, it's just
a category for applications without own folder in start menu)

If that fails (if the shortcut really does not exist), maybe typing gimp
while in start screen and/or applications screen should bring GIMP 2 to
light.
