First of all, please give us details of your operating system, its version and
other system details.

Otherwise, make sure you install GIMP from http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ .
If you're using MS Windows, you can download an .exe installer from there
which you can double-click to install GIMP system-wide and put it in the
system's menus.

I'm not sure how to achieve the operation you want and I'm not a graphics
expert. Hopefully other people here can help.
