The LCH one looks promising, but it would be more helpful if L C and H
were mapped to X Y and Z axes, or a cylinder, in the picker. Can't tell
for sure (I haven't tried the picker myself yet), but the screenshot
looks like it may be 3D.
There is a patch for replacing the HSV color picker sliders with LCH
sliders. But the patch has some side-effects on the other panels, and
will be nicer to use once the color picker is color-managed. Also, an
outline on the color square showing the boundaries of in-gamut vs
out-of-gamut colors would be nice (the sliders already show when a color
is in or out of gamut):
