One drawback I am seeing after using the Color Panes plugin is a very
marked sluggishness of the editor in response to mouse clicks to change
tabs when multiple files are open. When I disable the plugin, I get the
old responsiveness back.
Is this something that has already been reported? Or should I change
some environment variable or something else to get back the old
responsiveness?
I tested on my system and I don't have this bug. Did you fill a bug to
the author of the plugin?

Thank you, Jean-Philippe, for pointing me in the right direction
I have now localized the slow tab switching to an interaction between
the LaTeX plugin 0.2 and the Color Panes plugin 2.2.0 on gedit 2.30.4 on
Ubuntu 11.04. The problem disappears when either or both plugins are
disabled.
I have filed bug reports with the two plugin developers on their
respective bug reporting sites.
I find both plugins very productive and would like to see this issue fixed.
Thanks.
Chandra
