I chatted w/Paolo B. on IRC, and he seems to think it wouldn't be a big problem to get a new release out with these docs if I get them done.

If it's not too much trouble to do the release . . .  I'd really like to do it.  It won't only help Ubuntu users, but also OpenSUSE users who are staying with the Gnome 2.32 release (rather than switching to Gnome Shell).

I know that my main focus is going to be on getting the gedit 3 docs ready.  If it's not too much trouble, though . . .  I think this could be beneficial for gedit 2.3x users.
