Reading pbor's blog on porting gEdit from gnome-vfs to Gio/GVFS[1], he
states that a Dutch developer named Jesse ported not just the file
browser, but the internals, saying
"he completed the work by also reworking all the gedit internals
(especially remote file loading and saving) to use gio instead of
gnome-vfs"
So what does this mean for FTP support? I know that gEdit developers
discouraged the use of FTP in the past, forcing the user to enable it
via gconf-editor, but does this mean FTP can now (and should) be
enabled by default?
Maybe a good document on Gio vs gnome-vfs is in order.
Any help would be appreciated!
Sincerely,
