[gedit-list] anyone working on adding macro recording to gedit?

The single thing I miss the most about my Amiga is that Turbotext had 
macro recording capabilities. For the linux environment I know nedit has 
this but it lacks a number of features that I really like about gedit such 
as sorting and removign duplicate entries.

A text editor with eystroke macro recording, saving and play back 
capabilities can be used to manage small databases from plain text files - 
for example.
