I've just implemented emblem support (it was there already but not yet
functional). Here is a screenshot:

does is the python part (the actual plugin) connects the row-inserted
signal and sets the emblem column of each inserted row. The purpose of
these emblems are that plugins like CVS or SVN plugin can set emblems on
files to show they are new, deleted, changed etc.
I also found a bug in the advanced filtering, it hasn't been fixed yet.
