Looks like a good start, thanks! You're welcome to use images from the wiki for the page, if you need to upload them and the new icon, you can put down attribution for the screenshots as me, and Jakub Steiner for the icon.
I left the history part for now and just streamlined it a bit, though I removed a lot of that 'storytelling' in the technical information part. I also think that as the projects have sufficiently diverged, some info about Pantheon mail is ok, but definitely not as much as there was.
Yeah, I think it's definitely good to keep that aspect of the history, and that probably seems like a good place to keep a mention of the contributions Elementary made and the fork as well.
